Mask Fit Testing
In qualitative mask fit testing, a bitter-tasting solution like denatonium benzoate is used to detect leaks. If the wearer can taste the solution while wearing the mask, it indicates a poor fit and the mask may need adjustment or a different size. This test relies on the wearer's ability to detect the taste to assess the mask's seal.
